There is nothing like fulfilling a New Year's
resolution by starting out strong with great sales numbers. This is exactly
what Toyota is doing as it has already experienced a sale of 157,725 vehicles
in January, a strong response to so many great new Toyota
models currently offered in the lineup.
With these sales, Toyota is seeing an increase of its daily selling rating of 21.6 percent over its January sales from last year. To break this down further, by comparing 25 selling days in January of 2013 to the 24 selling days from last year, Toyota saw a sales increase of 26.6 percent. Here at Reno Toyota, we think this is quite an impressive improvement.
"The sales pace we saw in the fourth quarter of last year rolled into January, exceeding our expectations for the industry," explains Bill Fay, Toyota Division Group Vice President and General Manager, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. "Toyota started the year off strong, with total sales up over 26 percent, more than double the industry average. With the 2013 Avalon and 2013 RAV4 off to a great start, our focus remains firmly on new products and taking care of our customers."1
When breaking the sales increase down by model, Toyota saw some more impressive results. For example the new Corolla saw an increase in sales of 32.4 percent with 23,822 units sold. This means the automaker certainly has a lot to look forward to as we see what else 2013 brings in for strong sales.
